Five army jawans were arrested by police for helpling another jawan, who allegedly sexually assaulted a 18-year old girl.
According to police, the girl and her brother had arrived at the Dibrugah staion from Guwahati and were on their home to Dhakuakhana.
The girl went to have a bath in ladies bathroom around 11 pm. According to police, she heard someone repeatedly knocking the door of the bathroom and when she opened the door, she found an armyman standing outside.
He pushed her inside and tried to rape her. Her brother rushed towards the bathroom after hearing the girl's cry for help.
When he tried to catch the accused, other army personnel,who were waiting outside the door, stopped him and helped the accused to escape.
As the news spread, a huge crowd gathered at the railway station and roughed up four of the jawans, while the fifth escaped and was caught by police later.
