Kolkata: A highly decomposed body of a 16-year old girl was found on Saturday. The girl was missing since Tuesday.
Police said, around five people are suspected to be involved in the murder. The body has been sent for postmortem.
The girl's family alleged that she was was raped before being murdered.
The Police have refused to confirm if it was a rape as the girl's body was found in a highly decomposed state. No arrests have been made yet.
The National Crime Records Bureau has put West Bengal atop the chart concerning atrocities against women. According to the reports 30,942 cases were recorded in 2012 in West Bengal.
