DHARAMSHALA: In a shameful incident, a 13-month-old girl child was
raped by her uncle in Khaniayara village.
The incident took place on Wednesday afternoon but was discovered by the doctors later on Thursday evening.
Mother of the girl had gone to the market, leaving the girl child in the custody of her uncle (the stepbrother of child's father). When she returned home, she found her daughter crying stridently.
As the daughter didn't stopped crying, the mother took her to the hospital for normal check-up, where doctors discovered that she was raped.
After that a complaint was lodged on Thursday afternoon.
“The incident was brought to
our knowledge by the team of doctors who were treating the girl child. Taking
cognizance of the report, we have sent teams to the spot”, police said.
No arrest has been made yet but we’ll take strict action in
this matter, police said.
The in delay confirming the rape was due to the fact that nobody expected that the small child would be subjected to such a crime.
